Yakup Akın started his education life in Samsun, where he completed his primary, secondary and high school education. Moving to Istanbul to continue his education, Akın graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from Marmara University Atatürk Faculty of Education. Taking a step further in his academic career, he attended a master's program in Political Advertising at Roosevelt University in the UK and developed himself in this field.

Yakup Akın has participated in various certificate programs in order to reinforce his professional competence and leadership skills. He has completed certificates in areas such as IBBF (Family Management Training), SCHÖLL AG (School and Community Health Management), EUROSERTT (Compliance with European Union Occupational Standards) and became the authorized person in Turkey to issue these certificates.

Yakup Akın continues his successful career in the business world with the National Media Buying Company and National Advertising Agencies he founded in Istanbul and Ankara. Fluent in English and French, Mr. Akın is married with five children. As the Founding Chairman of Lonca, he sets the strategic vision of the company and continuously creates innovative solutions to make it a leader in foreign trade and logistics in Turkey. With his leadership and vision, Yakup Akın aims to make Lonca a first-class partner for medium-sized businesses.
