Rail Safety
ACC supports policies and programs that use a data-driven approach and multiple safety measures to improve the safe transportation of chemicals by rail.
Chemicals must be transported because the country depends on them. Some chemicals classified as hazardous materials are essential for food production, water and food supply security, life-saving medicines and equipment, energy production, and many other aspects of modern life.
Less than 1% of all train accidents result in a hazardous material release.
