American Cosmetics Manufacturers Association – ACMA
The American Cosmetics Manufacturers Association (ACMA), located in the heart of Washington, D.C., is a non-profit trade association composed of cosmetics manufacturers and distributors.
ACMA is recognized by U.S. and international stakeholders as a leading organization in the cosmetics trade industry.
Our members include brand owners, manufacturers, distributors, ingredient suppliers, and retailers supplying products to the U.S. market.
ACMA works on behalf of its members to represent the cosmetics industry before regulatory authorities and provides guidance on the practical implementation of EU Cosmetic Regulations and potential future regulatory changes affecting the industry.
ACMA Membership
ACMA membership is free of charge. Members gain access to an online program that enables companies to obtain certificates for products manufactured in the United States based on company identification details. To support exporters, ACMA developed a self-service certification program allowing companies to generate their own export certificates. The program focuses on the most commonly requested export documentation, including:
- Certificate of Free Sale (CFS)
- Good Manufacturing Practice Certificate (GMP)
- Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy Certificate (BSE)
- Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy Certificate (TSE)
All ACMA certificates are issued according to the destination country’s requirements and are apostilled or authenticated when necessary. For countries participating in the Hague Convention, the cost for an apostille-certified document is $150. Certification costs may be slightly higher for countries that are not part of the convention.
