About PCPC

Founded in 1894, the Personal Care Products Council (PCPC) is a leading national trade association representing cosmetics and personal care product companies. It serves as the industry's voice on scientific, regulatory, legal, and international matters for the $529.3 billion global industry. PCPC’s 600 member companies represent more than 90% of the U.S. beauty industry and include some of the most recognized brands in beauty and personal care today. These companies manufacture, distribute, and supply the majority of personal care products marketed in the United States and are global leaders dedicated to product safety, quality, and innovation.

On behalf of our members, three strategic priorities guide PCPC’s work:

  • Advocating for Impact
  • Strengthening Partnerships
  • Building Trust

In 2020, PCPC updated its Economic and Social Contributions Report to provide insight into the collective impact of its member companies that support the economy. Members also contribute to social and environmental programs, helping meet the needs of American families while working to improve communities.
